ClickScholar Nancy Hogan wrote, "This great Biology site is divided into
four sections: Brain, Skeleton, Heart and Digestive Tract. A narrated tour
gives a thorough explanation of each section. Students can also test their
knowledge with interactive activities like 'Organize Your Organs' or 'Build
a Skeleton.' And there's an added bonus: This site is available in Spanish
too! We are learning Spanish and it is fun to see how many words we
recognize. It's a great Spanish vocabulary builder!"
When you get to the site select the language you want to use - English or
Spanish. A new page opens with a menu of four items that include:
*The Human Brain - Click on this item to discover "The Brain Book" that
describes voluntary and involuntary functions, brain food, and everything
you wanted to know about headaches! You'll also find "The Brain Parts"
where you can learn about the components that make up the brain. Then, take
the audio-tour by clicking on "Narrated Neurons" and discover the brain's
potential.
*Skeleton - Take a guided, virtual tour of the human skeleton. Click on
"Zoom In" to get a closer look at the skeleton and its functions. Test your
knowledge by playing the interactive game, "Build A Skeleton."
*Human Heart - Learn the parts of the heart and watch a terrific animated
clip of the human heart in motion. Take the narrated virtual tour of the
human heart too.
*Digestive Tract - Find out the names of the organs in the intestinal tract
and take a narrated, guided tour of the digestive system. Play "Organize
Your Organs" and find out how much you really know.
This site offers a great introduction to learning about the human body.
