Home Depot & Lowe's KID Workshops


On the first Saturday of each month, Home Depot offers the same sort of workshop between 9 a.m. and noon.  (It only lasts that long if there's enough interest.)

These are free programs and great for both genders.  Free aprons and eye protection are usually included and available for take-home.  Certificates are personalized and offered at the end for successful completion of the project.  Lowe's gives a patch and a sticker.  Home Depot gives a pin for clothing.  These are fun to collect and/or scrapbook.  Take your camera . . . it's a hoot!   Take advantage of it!    

On the second Saturday of each month, Lowe's hosts a building workshop for children, free of charge.  I believe it starts at 10 a.m. and lasts one-hour.

On the First Friday of each month come to the planetarium to behold the spectacular beauty and mystery of Fractals.

This presentation is entertaining for young and old alike and is guaranteed to educate and entertain all who watch!

Travel the World with Mes Amis

International Tea Club!       Travel the World with Mes Amis International Tea Club Members will be invited to attemd TEN International Tea Celebrations.  This unique opportunity will allow a member to attend one specialty Tea Event per month for TEN months (excluding June & July). Adults are welcome to attend without a membership on a month to month basis. For youth, the recommended ages are  6 - 15 years. An adult must accompany youth members to each of the Tea Events. The objective of these International Tea Events is to present unique celebrations and traditions from countries around the world!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the elementary school Petroglyph Elementary School will be having a
"Winter Wonderland Carnival" on (February) 7th from 12:00-3:00.
This is on a Saturday so if anyone would like to take their family or just an outing for the kids it sounds wonderful.

There will be jumpers, giant slides, an obstacle course, face painting and a great deal of delicious food!
It looks like the tickets are 4/$1.00. If you would like more information there is a contact number of 897-4718.

Sat Feb 7: Ready, Set, Grow

Spread over three South Valley farmsites, Erda Gardens and Learning Center is a network of agricultural wonderlands that, at the end of the day, cultivates as much community as it does produce. The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is comprised of members who help grow and harvest food (all pesticide-free and biodynamic) and receive weekly shares of the fresh produce. This Saturday, from 1-4 pm, CSA supporters will gather for the first Erda work party of the year, which will lay the groundwork for the May-October growing season. Bring water, a sun hat and your curiosity to 1305 Blake SW (off Isleta).
