ClickScholar Sharon Jacksack discovered this site while looking for French lessons for her daughter.
She wrote, "There are printable handouts, audio lessons, quizzes, weekly tests and answers.
There's also a forum in case you get stuck on something.
This looks to be a great way to introduce the French language at the student's own pace."
For those seeking a traditional approach to learning languages this site has a lot to offer.
Not only can you download lessons and exercises, but you can listen to audio files of the lessons in the online forum.
You can also take tests and seek assistance from forum moderators.
When you get to the site you'll see a brief introduction by Professor Frenchtastic.
Use the menu at the top of the screen and click on "Classroom."
A new page opens with a menu that includes:
1) Lessons - Get 20 weeks worth of French lessons that you can download and print out.
2) Exercises - Download and print exercises that you can do offline to reinforce what you learn in each lesson.
3) Exams - Print out exams to test your knowledge.
4) Solutions - Get the correct answers to the tests.
Next, look at the menu at the top of the screen.
Directly below it is a black bar containing another menu that is difficult to see (or it was on my computer).
The menu includes:
*FAQ - Useful answers to questions about how this website works and why it's free.
I highly recommend reviewing the information here, it will help you to understand the best way to use the forum to get help from the moderators.
*Useful Links - Links to other websites with resources for learning French.
*Audio Lessons - Click on this link and you'll find yourself in the site's forum.
If you are just beginning, scroll through the topics on the forum to find "Semaine 1; Lecon 1" (that's Week 1; Lesson 1).
Click on it and a new page opens where you can watch and listen to the lesson (via You Tube).
Or, if you already know some French, browse the topics and select the one's of interest to you.
