I've made the grand decision and now housing 110 baby chicks, in our space where we would normally be working on ceramics. I ordered in 100 female and 10 male white Rock chicks. Pretty soon, there will be happy, fat and egg laying chickens, running all over the property and owning their masters. With the knowledge of how chickens are treated in the huge egg and chicken productions, and the fact that eggs from these conditions are hardly as nutritious as they should be, I've decided to go for the real thing. It will be 5-6 months, before our little ladies will be producing eggs and I'll keep everyone posted. This is to be an 'open society' tiny farm, where the kids can come to visit and learn about the true way eggs come into this world. Anyone can come to see for themselves, the healthy conditions and yes, buy eggs. So much of our food, today, is loaded with chemicals and have lost their food value. All it takes, it going back to the basics and that's what I'm doing. Now, I"m anxiously waiting for that true aroma that floats throughout the house, when a REAL egg is cracked open. |
