Wolfram Alpha was released in the middle of May and has already generated loads of buzz in the tech world.  
There is no way you would be able to figure out what it does unless you were taught about it.

Please recognize that this is NOT a typical search engine like Google.
It is a radical new alternative that actually answers your questions. It doesn’t just give you links to the data.

These videos do a good job of showing the type of questions that it will answer.

For example, you can type in the foods you eat at a meal, and it will tell you the nutritional composition of the meal.  
But that is only a tiny fraction of what it can do.    This is the closest thing to a Star Trek-like computer that I have yet to see.
