The 2nd Annual NEW MEXICO YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS PROJECT deadline is approaching.
This groundbreaking project nurtures young writers and future theatre-goers, while helping to raise literacy rates in New Mexico.
We are currently soliciting plays from student writers throughout the state for the 2nd Annual NEW MEXICO YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS CONTEST and invite your students to participate.
The winning plays of this years Contest will receive a professional staged reading at the NEW MEXICO YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL on November 7th, 2009. This event, hosted by MOTHER ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and THE FILLING STATION, will take place at THE FILLING STATION performance space in downtown Albuquerque.
Don't miss this opportunity to submit any plays that your students have written, are writing now, or that you may have them write as school year projects. This year we invite plays of any length and any subject matter.
This year's submission deadline is October 5th, 2009.
You'll find attached a flier detailing the specifics of the Contest and the Festival, including submission guidelines.
I encourage you to post and distribute this flier to your students, and remind them of the deadline at the end of this month.
Let them know that winners of the contest will receive cash prizes!
