EARTHSONGS FOR CHORUS AND ORCHESTRA

Commissioned by the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program,
to be premiered as the second half of its American Music Concert
in Popejoy Hall, 7:30 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2010 by the
90-piece Albuquerque Youth Symphony, a 200-voice adult chorus (including members of several civic choruses and the choirs of Sandia and Eldorado High Schools), a 30-voice children’s chorus, four adult soloists (UNM vocal students), and a boy-soprano soloist.
CHILDREN’S CHORUS AUDITIONS
Mr. Mauldin will hold 10-minute auditions for the children’s chorus on Monday evenings, September 14, 21 & 28 from 7-8:30 PM in the Choral Rehearsal Room of Eldorado High School (or by appointment). Children ages 9-13 may (but are not required to) bring a brief prepared piece
(unaccompanied, or with piano accompaniment, or a recording) and will be assisted in singing simple vocal exercises and brief excerpts from the piece. You can contact him at 293 5666 or michael@mmauldin.com for a time.

The children selected to participate need to attend six children’s-choir piano-rehearsals conducted by Mr. Mauldin from 7:00-8:00 PM, place to be announced, on these Mondays: October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9
