Not sure where or if this has already been posted feel free to movie it ladies........Just passing this along

We would like to start a school here in Albuquerque based on the Sudbury Valley model (grades PreK-12). It will follow the principle that young people have the right:

to decide individually how, when, what, where and with whom they learn, and

to have an equal share in the decision-making as to how the school is run, and which rules and sanctions are necessary.

The school will be privately run. For a basic idea, visit http://www.sudval. org.

If you are interested in finding out more about this effort, come to a beginning meeting at Nancy Kent's home on Saturday, October 24, at 3:00. Address is 1129 Quincy St., SE. Let us know if you can come or are interested by emailing at n13kent@yahoo. com.

Thanks and let us know!

Hey, I just joined the group and noticed your question. You might refer to my post in Introductions to see my personal wrangling with why should we even try to start a school. BUT, we do have a meeting planned for Saturday, Jan. 16, from 1:00 to 3:00, if you're interested.
