We are setting up home-school art classes, starting on October 21st. Classes will be held at the Singing Arrow Community Center on every Wednesday from 10.00am to 11.00am

http://local.yahoo.com/info-20195807-singing-arrow-community-center-albuquerque

Classes will run in an 8 class cycle and will cost $32 per cycle. This comes to $4 per class. Classes will include material and the $32 will have to be paid at the first class of the cycle. The price is based on a minimum of ten students, in order to make it realistic for our teacher to work at this extremely low price.

Should we not reach the minimum of ten pupils, we will consider between us if we want to pay a higher price or if we want to cancel the classes.

Our new teacher's name is Robert Martz and he has been kind enough to provide us with a short bio which you will find below this email.

Tanya and I have had the pleasure of meeting Rob in person and we are very excited about the material Rob is planning to cover in his classes.

Class schedule:

October 21st.

October 28th

November 4th

NO class on November 11th (Veterans Day)

November 18th

NO class on November 25th (Day before Thanksgiving)

December 2nd

December 9th

December 16th

NO class on December 23rd

NO class on December 30th

January 6th, last class of the first cycle.

These classes are open to all home schoolers. We are sending out this email to those who were at one point in Cassandra's classes and to those who we think might be interested. Feel free to forward it to home schoolers known to you or post it on your respective home school fora.

Sign up with me, Ginou, at inginouity@yahoo.com at your earliest convenience, so we have a good picture of how many students we have.

We are very happy we are able to offer these classes, which we feel will be an enrichment to the education of our children and we do hope to see you there.

The class coordinator's name is Ginou- email her at inginouity@yahoo.com

I'm thinking about it for Leedy, too.  Have to decide if we can make it work with our schedule, but it's a really good deal and I've heard that the teacher is great.

Alexis, thanks for posting this   Gale, you can sign up with me, send me an email at the address that Alexis gave you. Classes are paid directly to the teacher, either cash or checks, at the beginning of the first class.

Some people have asked me what the age range is. In principle, it is open from anything that can sit still and focus up to any schooling age. Cassandra had come to a point where they were ready to split up in two age groups and we might still do that if we have enough pupils, but for the moment, one group.

Having said this, with Cassandra we had kids from 4 to 14 in just one group and it worked real well. From what we heard, Rob also has experience with working with various ages at the same time.

This is a heads up to let you know that, after a very successful and enjoyable first cycle of classes with Rob, we are in the process of setting up a second cycle. It will most likely run part of February and all of March. When the dates are cleared with Rob and Singing Arrow community center, I will post the definite dates and open the classes for sign up.
