Does anyone have a good, authentic biscochito recipe to share? I have found several online, most of which either have 1)brandy or 2)lard, neither of which I stock. Although, with the current amount of craziness in the household, I am considering stocking brandy...

Would like to try my hand at these. I think I finally have posole and enchiladas down, after being here for 8 years. Now....BISCOCHITOS!

Thanks.

Kim

I've always used recipes that call for lard, and just substituted shortening.  Actually, I've used lard too.  But I didn't like it... everyone who ate the cookies did, though!  That's supposed to be the real, authentic way.  You can use red wine in place of brandy in the recipes, if you have that on hand.

Hey, thanks! That worked out great. I wound up using Crisco and sangria wine. They taste just fine. Interesting group of ingredients!
