Home Depot & Lowe's KID Workshops

On the first Saturday of each month, Home Depot offers the same sort of workshop between 9 a.m. and noon.  (It only lasts that long if there's enough interest.)

These are free programs and great for both genders.  Free aprons and eye protection are usually included and available for take-home.  Certificates are personalized and offered at the end for successful completion of the project.  Lowe's gives a patch and a sticker.  Home Depot gives a pin for clothing.  These are fun to collect and/or scrapbook.  Take your camera . . . it's a hoot!   Take advantage of it!

On the second Saturday of each month, Lowe's hosts a building workshop for children, free of charge.  I believe it starts at 10 a.m. and lasts one-hour.

Quoted Text
This is a brand new homeschool outreach program for 2010.
On the fourth Thursday of every month you can call Diane Flynn Keith and friends and talk about homeschooling on the phone.
Each teleconference will include a themed presentation followed by an open Q&A.

From the comfort of your own home you can learn about every aspect of homeschooling and unschooling
and get answers to your most pressing questions. It's a way to get information, support and reassurance over the phone.

"Homeschool Thursdays" are designed for a diverse, all-inclusive, non-sectarian audience.
Advance registration will be required for this free event (you just pay for your own telephone charges).

The KOB Channel 4 Health Fair is on (January) 23rd and 24th.
I saw an ad on a bus yesterday that said there are free bike helmets for kids.
So, if you need a helmet, you can go and have fun, and get one for less than it costs to buy. Just save one for me!

Kids under 12 are free. Adults are $5, but you can get $1 off at different spots around town.
The KOB website has a link to the data. (parking is $4 too)
