Hello-

Thank you to Alexis for inviting me to your forum!  My name is Cindy Kelly from Houston, TX and I have homeschooled my two sons since the beginning—they are 19 and 16 now.  I love homeschooling and in particular the lifestyle and freedom, as well as being able to help them learn critical thinking and focus all of life and learning on our faith.  

I asked Alexis if I could introduce myself because we are a College Plus! family- my boys have been doing the program over a year or so and are earning college credits.  

We love the program, it is a Christian mentoring program that helps them earn a fully accredited bachelor’s degree in about 2 years through CLEP and other tests and online classes for under $15,000. My 16 yo will have his degree by the time he is 18 and at this point plans to get his Masters.  My older son is pursuing writing and internships while getting his degree. I loved the program so much that now I am blessed to be a Program Advisor and doubly blessed to support your area!  We live in Houston, but I will be traveling to Albuquerque for the CAPE conference April 22-24th.

I would love to meet with you if you are coming to the conference, (look for our vendor booth!) or meet with you the day before if you have any coop meetings, etc happening.  My goal is to get to know families in your area and help share about College Plus!

We work with college age students, (and adult learners, too) but also help high schoolers get dual credits like my youngest is doing on an individual basis.  We also have group coaching for co-ops and the kids can all learn together!  If your coop does this the students’ goal will be to have 12 college credits earned by the end of the 9 months.
