passing along a wonderful reminder from In Him Homeschoolers:

Natural History Museum education kits

Recently I sent out an inquiry looking for an insect collection to study.
Then I remembered that I had once borrowed a gem, mineral & fossil collection from the Natural History Museum when we did a unit on geology.

I contacted Michael Sanchez in the education department there to see about an insect collection.
He was very helpful and let me borrow a large collection of beetles (unbelievable specimens from right here in New Mexico... thankfully, all dead!)
and another set of mounted insects and a couple of really scary arachnids.

These kits are offered as a free service to educators, so I wanted to remind everyone that if you ever have a similar need,
the museum is a great resource.
