The Santa Fe Opera announces
AUDITIONS
for 2010-2011 Young Voices Program
  
ALBUQUERQUE:  July 31, 2010   1PM to 5PM
Garcia Hall  4407 Menaul Blvd. NE (East Side Doors)
SANTA FE: August 1, 2010   1PM to 4PM
The Santa Fe Opera Ranch Lounge

Open to High School students (Grades 9-12) who desire to study the art of singing.
Instruction by Santa Fe Opera Artists and Music Staff will include individual voice lessons and musical coachings.  Attention to diction and language issues will also be addressed.
Lessons will be offered in Albuquerque and in Santa Fe.
Master Classes with noted singers and teachers are planned.
Tickets to local cultural events will also be included.  
Program culminates with a recital, May 2011, for all students enrolled.
Participation in this program is free of charge however participants will be asked to commit to a regular and rigorous training process.

Please prepare a song of your choice that you would enjoy singing for the audition.

Callbacks, times to be announced



Please call the ALT Box Office at 242-4750 ext. 2 to schedule a vocal audition.  

32 bars of a Broadway-style song recommended.  Please bring sheet music with you.  Everyone will be required to attend both vocal and dance auditions.  

A large cast of roughly 25 singers and dancers is needed, ages 13 and up, including 4 adults.


Rehearsals will begin approximately one week after callbacks.  The performance dates will be July 30-August 8, 2010.
