Liberty Debate & Speech Club  
Training students 12-18 years old for lifelong successful communication and forensic competition.

Informational meeting August 26, 2010, 6:00pm until 8:00pm at The Foothills.  (please RSVP)
Club meets Thursdays September 9, 2010  through May 12, 2011
at The Foothills,  12504 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, NM (corner of Tramway & Candelaria)

Speech:  4-6pm
Debate:  6-9pm  (specialized Debate Coach)
Cost: $50 (for speech, debate or both)
Parental involvement required. Training provided.

What will your student learn?

Speech:  Speaking skills for platform, limited prep and interpretive speech events and for general public speaking in various real-life situations. .  

How to write and deliver an effective speech.  The goal is for each student to have the opportunity to speak at every Club meeting.                  

Graceful and effective communication development will be the focus.

Available speech types:  Persuasive, Oratory, Expository, Impromptu, Apologetics, Extemporaneous, Interpretive events.

Debate:  Speaking skills for impromptu/limited prep-type speaking.  

Research skills.

                  Argumentation skills and strategies.

                  Logic and Thinking skills.

                  Types of Debate available: Team Policy, Lincoln-Douglas
