She has completed several in-depth Herbalism courses including The People's Medicine Fundamentals of Herbalism, Dr. Tierona Low Dog’s Foundations of Herbal Medicine, and When I Go Walking herbal field school. Dara has also taken classes with many well-known herbalists including Rosemary Gladstar, Matthew Wood, Paul Bergner, Jim McDonald, Kiva Rose Hardin, Howie Brounstein, CoreyPine Shane, and others. Her experience with all of these teachers has resulted in a passion for the plants of the southwest and the creation of the Old School Herbalism program, which takes a bioregional approach to plant medicine. In addition to teaching and learning from the plants, she happily maintains her own medicinal herb garden at home and is the primary healthcare provider for her family of 4.
The Old School Herbalism program is committed to empowering The People by making herbal education affordable and accessible to all.
