FREE hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 - 12 offered the 1st Saturday of every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety along with instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment.
All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally  2/11 - 2/12  7am Launch both days

Bring your family, a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and enjoy the view as a close-knit group of local balloon pilots launch up to 135+ hot air balloons over Valentine’s Day weekend at Balloon Fiesta Park.
  
The rally is put on by the largest community ballooning organization in the world, Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association (AAAA or "Quad-A"), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of hot air ballooning. The first Valentine Rally was held in 1976 and is always held during Valentine's Day weekend.
Sign up by January 31st to win a romantic Valentine's Day weekend package that includes a balloon ride for two at the Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally.

NM Rocketry Launch-Off contest: The Albuquerque ACTSO Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC), a program supported by Lockheed Martin, is hosting a special session to encourage students in grades 6-12 to pursue rocketry. Capacity is limited to 30 students.

The instruction and building hands-on activities will take place at Victory Christian School (220 El Pueblo Rd. NW) Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m.-noon.
The expense is $5 per student, payable at on-site registration to cover materials.
