The New Mexico Battle of the Books homeschool book club team - elementary level - meets the second Wednesday of each month at the North Valley library from 1-3. All readers of fourth or fifth grade ages are welcome to join! The book list contains 20 fun and age appropriate books from a variety of topics. Having 'book club' discussions of the titles read encourages the kids to move outside their subject comfort zone while being challenged and encouraged by other children's enthusiasm for the books keeps them reading!

Members of the book club can also choose to go to the annual New Mexico Battle of the Books competition in Silver City, May12th, 2012.

It was nice to meet you and hear about this group.  We have already completed 2 of the books and have started at third!  Also going to the library today to pick up more.  We are going to be ready for the next meeting!

I would like to pass this along to some other groups.  Have you posted to the homeschool science co-op?  I also know a group in Rio Rancho (I am not a member, as it is a Catholic group, but I have attended their park days) that I would like to pass it along to.  Would that be ok?
