Caring Homeschool Mom Teaches Beginning Latin

Are you interested in having your child learn Latin? Seem like a daunting task? Are you teaching your child Latin and experiencing tears, frustration? Latin can be fun and I can help your 1st through 4th grader with the basics of Latin grammar. I am a former homeschooling mom who taught my kids Latin, one through high school, the other through seventh grade. My daughter is now proficient in reading and translating the likes of Virgil and Plato, and excelled on the National Latin Exam, achieving a Gold medal and Summa Cum Laude, three years in a row.

Latin is a very precise and ordered language and is one of the most difficult languages to learn, but has many exceptional benefits.

I am in my mid fifties, though still young at heart. I have an MFA in Fine Art, I am a native New Mexican, married for thirty years, and a non-smoker.
I have homeschooled my two children for 11 years collectively, using a very rigorous Classical Curriculum, my daughter through high school. She became a National Merit Scholar finalist and is now a junior in a very rigorous Great Books Program Liberal Arts College, earning straight A's.
My son, I homeschooled through seventh grade, he is now a junior in high school, and attends a charter school. He was one of three students in his school, as a sophomore to be recognized with a New Mexico Student Achievement Award by
the NM ACT Council for earning top scores on the Pre-ACT. This test measures College Readiness Benchmarks in reading, math, science and English.
I relate a lot of their success to their study of Latin since first grade.

I have also taught ESL in Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan for a year and a half to employees of major Japanese corporations, such as Toyota and Nippon Steel, and also taught English privately while living in Japan.
