Dear Home School Parents, The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) La Luz Academy is currently taking applications for students to participate in the 2012-2013 DoD STARBASE Flight for 5th grade students and the TECH Flight for middle school aged students. The DoD STARBASE Flight engages students in challenging “hands-on, minds-on” science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities. The goal is to motivate students to explore STEM as they continue their education. Participating students come to the AFRL La Luz Academy facility on Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) for five five-hour curriculum days during the course of a semester. Home school students will participate during the spring semester. If you are interested in participating, complete the attached application for DoD STARBASE and e-mail, fax, or mail back to us by 1 June 2012.
