2012 Summer Semester Classes: • Herbalism Series 2: Wednesdays Aug. 8, 15, 22, 29, Sept. 5, 12, 6pm to 8pm Make your own herbal syrup, infused honey, medicated soap, and liniment. Identify medicinal plants during a wild herb walk in the mountains. Learn how to use herbs for stress, chronic pain, insomnia, mood imbalances, deep immune issues, thyroid problems, heart health, lymph flow, urinary infections, and women’s health. The series costs $150 and is limited to 8.
• Traditional Plant Uses, Preparations, & Seed Saving: Sat. Aug. 11, 9am to 11am This is a FREE event sponsored by Bernalillo County Open Space. Space is limited and registration is required. For more information or to register: email calangan@bernco.gov or call 314-0398.
• Kitchen Cosmetics: Sat. Aug. 18, 10am to 12noon Learn how to make moisturizing skin cream and healing lip balm and take home samples of what you make in class. The class costs $25 and is limited to 10.
• Kitchen Herbs as Plant Medicine: Sat. Sept. 15, 10am to 11:30am Learn about the medicinal properties of common kitchen herbs from your spice rack. The class costs $15 and is limited to 10.
• Pediatric Herbalism Intensive: Sat. Sept. 29, 10am to 1pm Learn how herbs can aid many of the common illnesses experienced by families. Topics include coughs, colds, fevers, sore throats, swollen tonsils, upset stomachs, earaches, allergies, eczema, fungal infections, and more. The class costs $30.
