Application deadline is April 25, 2013 for the “Double Eagle Aviation Adventure” (DEAA), June 17 – 21, 2013 at the Double Eagle II Airport on Albuquerque’s west side. An opportunity for current high school students to explore a future in aviation, this fast paced session is a mix of hands-on discovery and classroom learning covering all aspects of general aviation. The curriculum provides an introduction to being a pilot, doing maintenance, and designing and building aircraft. Students will be exposed to career and hobby pilots, mechanics, homebuilders, engineers and other aviation specialists. DEAA participants will be invited to a separate Young Eagles event where they will fly with a licensed pilot, following a route they planned during the week.
