Hello Albuquerque Moms and Dads
We are in the process of moving back to Albuquerque and we are hoping to find a parent or a couple of them who would be interested and able to contribute two days a week to a childcare coop where the only cost would be time.
The rewards would be plentiful.
We have two fantastic, personable little girls (2 and 3 years old) who would love to spend two days a week with their part-time teacher mom and some other kids (not more than three) in exchange for two days a week with those same kids and one of their parents.
We have been fortunate to have very flexible schedules that have given us a lot of time with our kids and we have developed a pretty good schedule that I intend to maintain in Albuquerque, where I will be working part time as a history teacher at a private high school.
If you are interested in working with me and my girls, you can expect (and we would expect from you) a very educational and active day.
Our typical day together consists of
1. Breakfast
2. A morning activity outside of the house, like a trip to the playground, the science museum, library, a hike, and in Albuquerque we would definitely spend time at the aquarium and botanical gardens. – We are looking for houses that would be in walking distance.
3. We return home around noon or 1:00, have lunch, read a story or two or three and then take a nap -- usually about an hour.
4. In the early afternoon, we play with various toys; do arts and crafts projects and little experiments and or learning projects.
5. When the brains need a rest, we head back outside for some fun out in the yard or at the playground.
If this schedule looks to be your speed and if you, like me, believe in giving your children undivided attention and lots of stimulation, and if you are fortunate enough to have a couple of week days to spend with your kids (and a couple of others), please contact me (Suzanne) at the above e-mail or reply to this message.
I hope to hear from someone who is as excited as I am about this childcare option.

Hi Suzanne, I'm not looking for coop childcare, but I wanted to say welcome to the group. Are you planning on homeschooling your kids when they reach school age? Where are you moving from?

Hi Elizabeth
Thanks for the welcome.
We are moving from VA. We've lived here for two years before which we lived in Taos and Albuquerque. So we'll be coming home ..
We have just begun to research homeschooling because we are strongly considering it for our kids. I was happy to find this website while looking up kid stuff in Albuquerque.
Salud, Suzanne

Suzanne,
Welcome back to Albuquerque. I, too, have two little girls ages 3 and 2 and am considering homeschooling. Currently we are involved in a playgroup coop that meets 1 day a week. However, this group will eventually dissolve as their friends begin a formal preschool in the late summer/fall. We would be very interested in meeting you and your girls. Maybe we could set up some playdates and get to know each other.
Peace,
Kellie

:) Hi Kellie and Girls
I tried to send an e-mail and I'm not sure that it went through, so I'll respond here.
We would love to meet for as many playdates as you and your girls like!
We expect to be in Albuquerque on August 1, provided the drive across country :D goes as planned. I will stay in touch ...
Peace right back at you, Suzanne

If so, you may remember Thomas, Melanie, Josie and Jemima.
We would love to see you all upon your return.
You can reply by this web site or stop by when you get to town - we're at the same address and home a lot!
