Just finished reading The Montessori Method by Maria Montessori.  What a progressive book for its time!  I plan on implementing much of it at home with Jonathan.
I also read Montessori at Home by Heidi Spietz.  Such an easy read after Maria Montessori's book!! I plan on copying many of the suggestions before I have to return it to the library on Wednesday.

I am also reading Get Ready to Read by Toni S. Gould.  Excellent book!  Borrows many ideas from Maria Montessori.  Great readiness games to play with your three and four year old children. More agames for reading, writitng and spelling.  Her opinions on teaching the alphabet sounds before the letter names as well as teaching lower case letters first make so much sense to me.
