Albuquerque Homeschool Forum  /  Introductions  /  New to NM with 3 Toddlers : )

Hi All!  I'm brand new to New Mexico and am eager to meet other moms of toddlers.  We plan to homeschool when the girls are older, but until then would love to attend park days or playgroups to get to know other homeschooling families.  Does anyone have suggestions as to what's out there for little ones?  Thanks in advance!

Hi Holly, welcome to NM! Where did you move from? It seems like many of the people I meet aren't native to the state. We came from California, by way of Portland (OR) and Boston. I have a 3 year old daughter. How old are your girls?

Hi Shannon and Elizabeth,

Thanks for the welcome and the website.  I'll check it out!  We moved here from Hawaii and are currently FREEZING but NM is gorgeous all the same.  : )  My girls (twins) are 3 1/2 and my baby girl is almost 20 months.  It's funny, most of the people I'm meeting aren't native either.  I lived in California for almost 28 years prior to moving to Maui for 2 1/2 and now here.

Elizabeth what types of activities have you found for your daughter?  I've located a Toddler Time class at Explora on Mondays and was thinking of trying that out.  Has anyone tried that yet?  Thanks everyone!  Hollybygolly

Holly, I'd definitely check out the NM Kids magazine. It's a free magazine that you can find at most libraries, and advertises all sorts of activities for kids, including classes at Explora, museum & zoo classes, etc. We also have enjoyed story time at the library and some of the local bookstores.

HI,

Welcome to NM.  My husband and his family are from Oahu.  They moved here many years ago, and are still freezing anytime it gets below 60 degrees. I have a 4 year old daughter, and we hope to meet you and your girls sometime.
