Albuquerque Homeschool Forum / Introductions / home school or child zoo?

I may only have one 14 month old but you could come over to our house and ask the question, " so where are the other three?" (because that is what the living room looks like).
We are new to the abq area and interested in homeschooling, even though Rowan is just getting started walking and talking, we find there is lots to do and learn!
We are especially interested not only in the activities and meeting other moms and dads but in forming play groups and sharing child care.
If you have a child in similar age gorup and would like to get together let us know!

Hi, McCordy! Welcome to Albuquerque.
I have one child, a 4 year old boy, and sometimes I feel like I'm living in a zoo too! But, hey, learning is messy! And you are so right. There really is a lot to learn, every day in every situation. When my son was that age, I'd frequently peel potatoes on the floor with him. He'd have his own cutting board, a spoon and a potato. Now that he's four he helps me peel with a butter knife, and he's the official food taster/ potato masher. He has so much fun, he doesn't even realize he's learning valuable skills!
Again, welcome to the area, and maybe you could bring your little one to a park day sometime soon.
Dannie
