Albuquerque Homeschool Forum / Science / at a human's pace/lifespan, the sound of crickets

;D Wow, I had never heard this before. It is truly amazing!
Jim Wilson, a Santa Fe composer, made a high-quality recording of crickets chirping. (no big deal) Then, he digitally slowed down the recording to reflect what a cricket would sound like if it were living life at the pace of a human's lifespan.
This is astounding. Please click "click to sample songs/music on this recording" This is the sound of crickets as they would sound if we shared the same "heartbeat" or "lifespan." It makes one wonder what other heavenly sounds are embedded in nature if we were all hearing/living at the same "pace."

As a family, we turn on music for 5 or 10 minutes at night just before bed and lay there (usually in the dark) to listen to something healing, beautiful, or calming. Nature sounds are so beautiful and a universally-understood sound at the cellular level.
I hope you enjoy this. ;D

WOW! That was so beautiful. I think I might get it too. Sorscha and I are going to be scattering a little girls ashes in the spring under two trees we planted for her in the backyard. This just called for me to play it while scattering. COOL!
