The 2008 Roswell UFO Festival is celebrating the 61st Anniversary of the notorious 1947 Roswell Incident.  
It will be held from 8:00 AM July 3rd through 6:00 PM, July 6th in downtown Roswell, New Mexico.  

We will have more events, speakers, authors, entertainment and attractions than any one person will be able to see during this 4-day event.  

This family oriented festival will have plenty for the serious UFO/Alien buff to do while the not-so-serious family members have fun at the Murphy Bros. Carnival or at any one of fifty other events and attractions taking place during this activity-filled weekend.

Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival.
First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity.
The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

The Saturday Sunset Series will feature talks, demonstrations and shows by some of Albuquerque's best speakers, teachers and performers at the Elena Gallegos Picnic Area Amphitheater on Saturdays at 7:00pm.

The Lavender in the Village Festival is a 3- day event from July 11th through July 13th, 2008.
July 11th is the Barn Dance, Dinner and Auction at the Barn (see Barn Dance for details).
July 12th and 13th the Festival will be in three different locations throughout the village.

--The Growers' Market and The Barn Pavilion & Village Green vendors will be next door to the Village Hall. There will be activities for children, six food vendors, and classes and demonstrations.

--Los Poblanos will feature fresh lavender, U-Pick, organic farm and food, music, children’s activities and tours of two historic houses by New Mexico’s’ famed architect, John Gaw Meem.

--Casa Rondeña Winery will feature leisurely wine tastings, food, and music in one of the prettiest settings in the state.

--Anderson Valley Vineyards will feature delicious lavender flavored merlot spritzers, and $6.00 full wine tastings (lavender colored glass included).

--4th Street will feature a variety of stores and restuarants. There will be live music, refreshments, door prizes, specialty lavender items, and various sales.

--Food Vendors on Village Green – Geo’s Bistro, Hawaiian Shave Ice, Hungry Wagon Taco, Los Ranchos Fire Department, Aaron's Los Ranchos Café, and Sugar Shack.

Every year there are numerous stories in the news of people getting lost in the wilderness.  
Some of them have happy endings, some don't.  Almost all of them could have been avoided.  

Come and learn the techniques your ancestors used to find their way in unfamiliar places.  
In this interactive workshop, you will learn why and how people become lost in the first place and how to avoid those mistakes.
These exercises and techniques are easily learned by children and will also work in crowded places like malls, sporting events and other large gatherings of people.  
Learning and practicing these basic skills helps to ensure that your future ventures into the wilderness will be safe and enjoyable.
