This is a really fun game for kids, and leave it to homeschoolers to turn fun into educational! That is, afterall, what homeschooling is all about.

So not only are your kids going to have a blast, they are going to learn about how light travels through different mediums, and fiber optics.

I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. It’s the Nerf ProShop NiteJam. It’s an indoor basketball game you play at night, where the ball lights up with a fiber optic type of system.

You can see details about the game here.

It’s normally $25, but was on sale for $10. But suddenly it dropped to $7.50 and still qualifies for *f*ree shipping. When something hits 70% off, I consider that a “sale.”

It *is* fun, and anything that lights up so kids can play in the dark is sure to be a big hit.

So why not make it educational?

To that end, I’ve compiled some lesson plans and educational references on how it lights up. The basketball uses a rudimentary fiber optic for it’s lighting. So why not learn about how that whole thing works while having fun!
