Hi everyone,
Our ranch won't be on the Fiber Tour this year, even though we do have a few fiber animals, such as angora goats, llamas and sheep, but
we do plan to visit many of the beautiful farms of our East Mountain neighbors and hope other homeschool families will, too. There will be many educational opportunities, new environments, as well as interesting people and animals to explore and learn about.
So come on up to the beautiful East Mountains for the Fiber Tour next month!

FREE ADMISSION

JUNE 7 & 8, 2008 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Enjoy a day at a fiber farm or fiber studio in the beautiful East Mountain area of Enchanted New Mexico!
Only a short drive East of Albuquerque, New Mexico, you will have an opportunity to visit the farms that raise fiber animals, including Huacaya Alpacas, Sheep, Angora Goats, Llamas and Angora Rabbits! Meet with breeders of these incredible fiber animals and ask your questions about the fiber or the fiber animal business.
This “hands on” opportunity will allow you to see the animals in person, touch and feel the fiber that they provide and take memorable family photos that you will treasure forever!
Visit the fiber studios and meet the fiber artists who use their talents in creating beautiful handwoven garments and home decorating items. Meet the artist who makes one-of-a-kind hand crafted glass buttons to adorn the finished handwoven, knitted and crocheted garments. There will be many fiber related items for sale at each tour location including yarn, roving, drop spindles, handwovens, livestock, raw fleeces, animal related jewelry, hand knitted and crocheted garments, knitting looms, goat’s milk soaps and lavender products.
Be sure to bring your cameras and children to observe one of the many on-going demonstrations including spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting and dyeing.
Pick up information on a wide variety of fiber related classes available. Start that project that you have been putting off for too long!
Come out, join in the fun, breathe in the fresh mountain air and marvel at the landscape of the East Mountain area for this educational, exciting annual event!
