Hello Homeschoolers! I wanted to introduce myself, not as a homeschooler, but as an alternative educator. Recently myself and a small group of educators have begun the first steps in starting a "Democratic School", I know that this is a homeschooling network and I have MUCH respect for your choice to homeschool. I thought I might reach out to this community because Democratic Education has many homeschoolers involved and has roots in Unschooling. So if any of you are interested, either for yourselves or know of someone who might be, we are having our first informational meeting on September 6th at the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice at 4 pm. I will add this event in the events thread and attach our flier. Thank you so much for providing an alternative choice for your children, I hope to add this type of "school" to the many choices available here in Albuquerque!

I will put you both on the list that I am creating for interested parents! After the meeting I might be able to email the powerpoint presentation and informational brochure to the people that could not attend. After the first meeting we plan to have a once a month meeting to continue the conversation, so maybe you could join in then.

Thanks for all your replies. The meeting went well, we had some interested families as well as educators. We are forming a yahoo group this weekend with all of your contact information so it will be easy for all of us to stay connected and updated.
