Albuquerque Homeschool Forum  /  Around town  /  Awsome presentation on how the brain learns!
Posted by: JenniferD, December 3, 2008, 9:38pm
Hey folks, this is a trio of free presentations down at the Mind Research Institute (near UNM North Campus) about how the brain learns and works. My friend sets this up for MESA - I went to a similar presentation this year and it was GREAT! I highly reccommend this to anyone interested. I realize it is a little early to post but if you are interested in signing up I do believe there is limited space so it is wise to register early.

The SCORE (Scientific Collaboration on Research in Education) program is a collaboration between the Mind Research Network and New Mexico MESA, Inc.  This unique partnership between two New Mexico non-profits-a world-class neuroscience research facility and an organization that promotes math, engineering and science in schools-connects New Mexico educators with recent neuroscience discoveries that can be incorporated into classroom teaching techniques.

Spring Series Topics:

February 19, 2009 - Introduction; Effects of substance abuse on the brain
March 19, 2009 - Learning disorders
April 16, 2009 - Brain based learning - fact or fiction
