CLASSICAL GUITAR LESSONS!

I am a VERY enthusiastic teacher with an incredible track record and educational/performance history. I have recently moved to Albuquerque from New York State, where I taught at a prominent university. While I have spend a great deal of time working with college age students, I also love to work with younger children.  I even taught a upper-division college course on Guitar Pedagogy (How to teach guitar)!

I am a professional musician and have played in various countries and venues across the United States. I have a Masters of Music and Doctorate in Classical Guitar Performance from one of the most prestigious programs in the country (USC) where I studied with giants of the classical guitar world (and Grammy Award Winning Musicians!).  I also have degrees in Education and Spanish. I have taught ages 4 and up over the last 10-15 years (various styles), but am looking specifically for students who want to learn nylon-string guitar.

I am a technique guru when it comes to fixing problems/bad habits and get first-time players off to an ideal start so that bad habits are not formed! I will cater lessons to your learning goals. I charge $50/hr though will consider 30 min. lessons for children. I am also open to small group lessons (2-3 students).

I have already developed a significant studio, and have filled up most of my evening spots...so I am looking for students who can meet with me during the daytime. If you are serious about learning proper technique from a true expert, please contact me.  I will also begin teaching at the UNM Music Prep Program on Saturdays starting in January.

Classical guitar will provide you/you child with a SOLID technique that is applicable to various other styles of music. For children, it is a great way to get structured musical education on a fantastic instrument.  I will accept students as young as 4 years old if they are ready to get an incredible start on this beautiful, versatile instrument.
