Hello Families! Spring is just around the corner and plans are starting to form around here. Please consider returning to the Outpost Opera Class!
We have a group of eight so far! Attached is the application. Please forward if you want recommend us to a friend.
We begin March 17th and go through eight weeks, til May 5th on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale Boulevard Southeast, Albuquerque, NM 87106.

Share your passion for preserving New Mexico history, culture, environment and sustainability to inform those of all experience levels.
Cultivate the effort to gather seed and grow awareness for future seed sovereignty.
Plant it for your planet in 2011!
Be one of the seed-swappers, speakers, musicians or facilitate a workshop!
Students are encouraged to participate and all are welcome to support local preservation.

On the first Saturday of each month, Home Depot offers the same sort of workshop between 9 a.m. and noon. (It only lasts that long if there's enough interest.)
These are free programs and great for both genders. Free aprons and eye protection are usually included and available for take-home. Certificates are personalized and offered at the end for successful completion of the project. Lowe's gives a patch and a sticker. Home Depot gives a pin for clothing. These are fun to collect and/or scrapbook. Take your camera . . . it's a hoot! Take advantage of it!
On the second Saturday of each month, Lowe's hosts a building workshop for children, free of charge. I believe it starts at 10 a.m. and lasts one-hour.monthly, 3rd Tuesday

East Mountain Interpretive Series, Ojito de San Antonio Youth Presentations on March 24th from 5:00-6:30pm at the East Mountain High School
Bernalillo Coutny Open Space staff have teamed up with the East Mountain High School students to help manage the natural resources at Ojito de San Antonio including historic fruit trees, perennial springs, and wildlife habitat. Students will present their projects followed by a short film about the culture and history of the property, That Which is Most Precious: La Fiesta de San Antonio presented by Professor Enrique Lamadrid and filmmaker TJ Martinez.

Albuquerque—Join us in celebrating this worldwide event. Earth Hour Extravaganza features bilingual, hands-on activities, Planetarium shows, and the opportunity to come together and construct a large-scale map of New Mexico that records our pledges to the Earth. Explore the Museum and experience the excitement and celebration as we switch off the lights and head outdoors to discover the night sky.
Millions of people switch off their lights for one hour to raise awareness about global climate change. This event is free, and includes FREE admission to the Museum and Planetarium!
In partnership with Community Science Connections, Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries, National Science Foundation, and Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Mission and History of Earth Hour
On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people, organizations, corporations and governments around the world will come together to make a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. In the U.S. where we are already feeling the impacts of climate change, Earth Hour sends a clear message that Americans care about this issue and want to turn the lights out on dirty air, dangerous dependency on foreign oil and costly climate change impacts, and make the switch to cleaner air, a strong economic future and a more secure nation.
Since its inception four years ago, Earth Hour’s non-partisan approach has captured the world’s imagination and become a global phenomenon. Over one billion people turned out for Earth Hour 2010 – involving 128 countries on seven continents.
On Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. local time, Earth Hour will once again cascade around the globe, from New Zealand to Hawaii. Join us for this FREE event!
