I missed park day today because of a MVD issue but I was going to bring up the idea of a group for middle schoolers. My sons and I are new here and they feel uncomfortable with going to the park with little kids. So I imagine other kids must feel the same way?? We talked about an idea we saw on the roots and shoots site for volunteering at an animal shelter and making beds for the animals. This would include crafting days and volunteering days, so plenty of social time for the kids to get to know each other without feeling like we are trying to help them make friends. Also we are doing a lot of good for the animals and our kids civic duty. Win Win :)If anyone is interested shoot me an e-mail. christy.argo@gmail.com

how cool!   Our son would be joining in a few years and we'd like to hear how your endeavor goes

This sounds great.   Our kids aren't old enough yet, but I'm hoping this will still be there when they get to middle school.    It sounds like a wonderful plan and I hope it goes well.
