Albuquerque Homeschool Forum / Introductions / New To Homeschooling

Hi there-
My kids and I are new to homeschooling-this will be our first year doing it. My girls are 10 and 6(almost 7) and are a little nervous and excited all at the same time about staying home with me and dad. My husband and I work at home-we are lampwork artists and will be traveling a ton in the next few years-we are hoping that this will offer many learing opportunities for our girls. We are not religous at all. We are a bit abnormal (who isn't?) and we try and have an open mind to everything that life has to offer. We have an open and honest relationship with our kids and feel homeschooling will give us the opportunity to expand their minds beyond what public school has to offer them.
Anyways...I am a bit shy-so meeting up with others is something I have to get use to-forgive me if I don't speak up as much as I should. The girls need to be social though and I think the park days will be a great start to them (and me) socializing.
We will start coming to the park days starting next week.
I am the mom with the pink hair and one tall 10 year old and one spunky 6 year old-see you there!
I am going to pick through all the forums here and see what is going on-if you have any tips for me or would just like to say hi please do! :) Thanks!
