Many of you may not have heard of competitive jump rope, but it is an amazing  sport. Half the kids on the team are home schooled. Albuquerque Air Jump Rope just placed 9th at nationals as a team (56 teams were present from all over the country). We had one national champion and several runners up this year.

Jump Rope includes 9 different events including speed and freestyle events.  It is broken down into age groups and kids as young as 6 years old are jumping.

Jump Rope develops speed, flexibility and endurance. Jump Rope is also great training for all other sports. Many of the kids also play club soccer or basketball. The team also does shows and will be performing at the Balloon Fiesta.
