The University of Mississippi Independent Study High School:
is committed to providing a virtual high school to enhance the educational opportunities available to students in the state, region, and nation by delivering a comprehensive high school academic experience that can complement offerings in local districts or provide courses leading to an UM-ISHS diploma.
  The University of Mississippi Independent Study High School Offers:
SACS accreditation, NCAA approval on core courses, Certified Teachers, Fast Response to Student Assignments and Inquiries, Student-Oriented Instructional Design, and a Service-Oriented Program.


The University of Mississippi Independent Study High School Provides:

core courses in all major curriculum areas
courses needed for college entrance
elective courses to meet the needs of students with a wide range of interests
advanced courses for accelerated students
basic courses for special-needs students
special or low-enrollment courses
The University of Mississippi Independent Study High School provides opportunities for students in various circumstances to meet their educational needs. Students come to UM-Independent Study High School because they:

want a quality education from an accredited institution--while still homeschooling
want a recognized diploma
have difficulty coping with time and place restrictions of a classroom and want to proceed at their own pace
want to accelerate their high school progress
are unable to attend a local school because they live in an isolated area
are in countries outside the United States and are without access to an accredited high school diploma program from a school in the United States
cannot attend a local school because they are homebound
