Hello Homeschooling Families,
Sandia National Laboratories and Lockheed Martin partner with local schools to offer the STAR Program. The primary goal of the STAR Program is to introduce high school students who have completed their junior year in high school to a career in science or engineering and enable them to gain real world work experience with a scientist/mentor at Sandia.
STAR is scheduled to run for 8 weeks, June 11, 2010-August 3, 2012. Students must be available the entire 8 week period.
Detailed program eligibility and application requirements can be found in the document attached to this email.
The ERC can nominate only TWO exceptional science students to participate in this program, by Monday November 28th. You may email to let the ERC know your child meets all of the eligibility requirements and plans to apply. If there are more than two students eligible, we will ask you to submit more application packet information, in order to make our two selections. The completed application packet must be received to the STAR Program Administrator by Friday January 13, 2012. (application process is in the attached form as well). Students will be notified of their status in February 2012.
The Education Resource Center (ERC) is a ministry of Grace Baptist Chapel
