Albuquerque Homeschool Forum  /  Introductions  /  homeschooling 8th grader for rest of school year

Hi, I'm real new to this.  I've decided to homeschool my 8th grader for the rest of this school year and I don't know what cirriculum I'm suppose to be following.  I have the books (her school is letting me check them out).  I just need to know where I go from here.  Also, where do I get record keeping information & how do they (APS) know what her grades are?  If anyone can help answer these questions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi-
I'm not sure how much help I can be with the transition, assuming you're planning to re-enroll her in 9th grade next year, but this link might help: http://www.aps.edu/home-school/

There's no set curriculum you have to use to homeschool your child, and many homeschoolers piece together their own set of books and resources to create their own "curriculum."  But if you want to follow the same work she would be doing in middle school, here's a link to the NM state standards expected of each grade in each subject: http://ped.state.nm.us/standards/

Good luck, and I hope that helps!
