Many free educational materials are available by phone, mail, or internet. Here we present some of our favorite freebies.

Keep in mind that this list is difficult to keep up to date, because free offers don't always last. If you have anything to add or correct, please contact us or post to our message board.

Two libraries, Taylor Ranch and Tijeras offer Educators Guide to Free Materials, which can help you in your search for specific material.

The zip code then brings up a list of schools in that sector. You can only click on a school and that is where they will send the supplies. No matter what I tried, I couldn't place an order. I called Crest program at PG and they as of October, going to ship me the teaching materials only. Not the free giveaways, but we can always hit the dollar stores to supplement.

1-800-77-puffs Be Good to Your Nose Program. All about germs. Includes a sing along CD and teaching guide. Really Cute! This program has been discontinued, yet they have some cute printable worksheets and online games that kids can play.

Coloring book - Albuquerque 884-0060 You have to go to store to pick up a coloring book. They also have a free bug identification book for teens. They used to have a free video called "Planet Insect" but the gentleman I spoke with at the above phone number did not know if it was still available. I have the video if anyone wants to borrow it. American Kennel Club

After getting a little annoyed with American Kennel, they are sending out their material as well, first having told me it was only available to "schools" and "not homeschoolers", I then used my orginization here in the East Mtns. and ordered it under that name. (Even though the word homeschoolers is in that title, jeez!)

Mayo Clinic's Complete Book of Pregnancy and Baby's First Year

If you are pregnant you can order this excellent book free of charge from State Farm. You do not need to be a State Farm client. I just received the book in the mail yesterday. It is a hardcover medical reference book with over 700 pages. The cost to purchase this book at a bookstore is $35. Call 1-888-733-8368. I also have that freebie Mayo book and it is GREAT! It was one of my favorites when I was pregnant.

The White House

Although I can't officially "recommend" this one since I haven't requested it yet I'll go ahead and post for all that want to take advantage of this offer. I found this freebie at a homeschool message board on AOL. It is a book about the White House. The description made it sound like a really nice book, not cheaply done at all.
